Cybersecurity

For a company managing critical infrastructure projects, cyber security is not optional. Every minute of downtime carries real operational and financial consequences.

Stangeland Maskin is a family-owned group based in Sola, Norway, with operations in construction, civil engineering, property, recycling, and environmental services. They have roots dating back to 1959, and manage critical infrastructure projects where uptime, safety, and compliance are essential to daily operations.

In collaboration with a Finnish customer, we delivered a refurbished device solution that combined lower costs, reduced emissions, and secure lifecycle management, resulting in nearly €80,000 in savings without compromising quality or compliance.

The customer, StaffPoint, is one of Finland’s leading personnel service companies, providing services in recruitment, staffing, and training. Alongside its commercial operations, StaffPoint plays an important societal role through initiatives such as integration training for immigrants and employment coaching for job seekers. Supporting this mission requires reliable technology, but also smart and responsible choices.

When the Norwegian police recently selected Advania to supply PCs, Macs, mobile phones and tablets with associated equipment, they cited one reason: the best quality offer. For a force responsible for public safety across an entire nation, "good enough" isn't an option. But this single procurement decision points to something larger. Across Northern Europe, Advania supports essential public services in environments where downtime isn't just inconvenient, it's impossible.

Maarten Kanters has joined Advania as Strategy Director coordinating growth initiatives across all markets. Advania is focusing on three areas where organizations need integrated solutions: AI implementation that delivers measurable outcomes within existing systems, cyber resilience that ensures business continuity, and total lifecycle management that reduces IT device costs while improving sustainability and security.

Advania’s purpose is to create sustainable value for organizations and society through technology. That commitment includes taking real responsibility for our own environmental impact. Today, we are proud to share that Advania Norway has joined Advania Sweden and Advania Iceland with climate targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Together, these three markets represent an important milestone on our shared journey toward having all Advania companies validated by SBTi before 2030, a commitment established earlier this year and now communicated publicly for the first time.

Across Europe, the new EU cybersecurity directive (NIS2) is being implemented into national law, but not everywhere at the same pace. Denmark and Finland have already completed the process, while Sweden and Ireland are in the final phase of preparing their legislation. Iceland and Norway, though not EU member states, will also implement the directive through the EEA. The UK is likewise updating its national cybersecurity framework to align with the core purpose of NIS2.
