How NORDEN streamlined global IT and hardware with Advania
Managing hardware globally is not just about ordering laptops. It requires navigating compliance rules, customs regulations, pricing volatility, and logistics across multiple markets.
At Advania, we support global organisations in removing that complexity. In partnership with NORDEN, Advania Denmark built a scalable IT and hardware model that ensures consistent quality and delivery across its 19 offices worldwide.
Founded in 1871, NORDEN is a maritime logistics company connecting global trade through agile and efficient solutions. With around 500 employees across four continents, the company relies on data driven insights to optimise supply chains and reduce environmental impact. However, operating internationally naturally adds complexity to IT operations.
The Challenge:
One standard across multiple markets
For NORDEN, global presence meant that even simple hardware procurement could become operationally demanding. Purchasing equipment across multiple countries involves navigating different compliance requirements, customs regulations, and delivery logistics.
With a lean internal IT organisation, the company wanted to avoid spending time managing local procurement rules and administrative processes in every market. Instead, NORDEN needed a global process that ensured employees from Singapore to Copenhagen would receive the same high quality equipment and user experience.
“As a global company with a small IT organisation, we do not have time to navigate local conditions,” says Sune Marker, Head of IT Operations and Services at NORDEN. “We need a process that ensures a colleague in Rio gets the same high standard as one in Copenhagen, without reinventing the wheel every time.”
The Solution:
A simplified global procurement model
Advania worked with NORDEN to design a solution that simplifies procurement and logistics across borders. A key element is a customised section of Advania’s webshop where preconfigured IT packages are available at the click of a button. These packages are tailored to NORDEN’s needs and ensure that the correct equipment is ordered consistently for new employees regardless of location.
Beyond the webshop, Advania manages the operational complexity behind the scenes. The team monitors market conditions to secure competitive pricing, handles export and customs procedures, and ensures compliance with local regulations. Through its international partner network, Advania coordinates deliveries worldwide, removing administrative friction from NORDEN’s IT operations.
Key Outcomes:
A global process that works
The partnership has delivered clear operational benefits:
• A scalable global IT procurement model aligned with NORDEN’s agile business strategy
• Consistent technology and user experience across all 19 offices
• Reduced administrative workload for NORDEN’s internal IT team
• More time for the IT organisation to focus on strategic and data driven initiatives
Over more than 15 years of collaboration, Advania has supported more than 1,000 hardware deliveries for NORDEN. These range from laptops and monitors to printers and meeting room equipment across the company’s global locations.
A Partnership That Removes Friction
For NORDEN, IT procurement is no longer about finding the lowest price on a given day. It is about securing long term value through reliability, compliance, and operational simplicity.
By managing delivery, coordination, and local requirements, Advania removes administrative complexity from a global organisation. That allows NORDEN to focus on connecting global trade and navigating an unpredictable world, without worrying whether equipment will arrive on time and meet local standards.
