Advania and Cortex join forces to drive growth in Denmark
Advania and Cortex Consult A/S (“Cortex”) are joining forces, marking an important step in Advania’s expansion in the Danish market and strengthening its managed services offering across the Nordics.
Founded in 1998, Cortex has built a strong reputation for reliable IT operations and close customer partnerships. The company primarily serves mid-sized businesses, as well as selected larger customers across private and public sectors, with a particularly strong track record in the pharmaceutical industry. A significant share of its business is based on long-term, recurring engagements.
Through the combination, Advania adds an experienced team and an established customer base, expanding its managed services capabilities in Denmark. Together, the companies will offer a broader and more integrated set of IT services, combining operational strength with expanded capabilities across infrastructure, cloud, storage, and backup.
“This is a strategically important step for Advania in Denmark,” says Henrik Foyn-Laukvik, Head of M&A at Advania. “Cortex strengthens our position in a key market and adds capabilities and customer relationships that fit well with our long-term direction.”
Cortex’s managed services business will be integrated into Advania’s existing operations and operate under the Advania brand, strengthening capabilities across infrastructure, cloud, storage, and backup, while enhancing Advania’s ability to support customers navigating an increasingly complex technology landscape, including the growing role of AI.
“Cortex has built strong, long-term relationships with its customers, and that is something we deeply respect and intend to build on,” says Siggi Thorsteinsson, CEO of Advania Denmark. “Customers can expect continuity in both service and relationships, with the same teams and the same high level of service, while also gaining access to a broader set of capabilities as part of Advania.”
The combined business strengthens Advania’s position in Denmark and expands its ability to serve mid-sized and larger organisations with end-to-end IT services across sectors.
Closing of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval.
About Advania
Advania is a Northern European IT services provider operating across seven markets: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the UK, and Ireland. The company works with mid-market enterprises and public sector organisations where IT complexity is high and the stakes of getting it right are real. Advania supports the full lifecycle of IT, from advisory and architecture to implementation, managed services, and continuous improvement. Its approach is vendor-neutral, focused on matching the right technology to each organisation rather than promoting a fixed stack. Core capabilities span cloud, cyber resilience, and artificial intelligence, alongside hardware lifecycle management and circular IT services. With approximately 5,000 employees, Advania operates through a model that keeps decision-making close to customers while drawing on shared expertise and scale across markets. The result is the relationship depth typically associated with local providers, combined with the capability range of a larger organisation.
