Advania a proud sponsor of the Iceland national football teams
A Guðni Bergsson, the president of the Football Association of Iceland and Ægir Már Þórisson, CEO of Advania Iceland signed a contract stating that Advania will be one of six sponsors for the Football Association. Advania and the FA of Iceland have enjoyed a close working relationship for a number of years and with the sponsorship contract the collaboration is expected to become even closer in the next three years.
The FA of Iceland is facing an exciting and busy period ahead, especially with the men‘s national team participating in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia this summer. Iceland‘s participation in the tournament will bring numerous challenges when it comes to IT and tech, all of which will be addressed by Advania.
Advania has already built and launched a new website for the FA of Iceland where access to statistics and data has been greatly improved. Advania has also built a new and powerful tournament system, providing a clear overview of tournaments and games for everyone involved in organised football in Iceland. The tournament system is readily available to all users on the new site.
”It is a great pleasure to be able to support the effort of our best football players in both the men‘s and women‘s national teams. We are especially happy that our support will help improve the work at the grass-roots level all around the country. IT is increasingly a bigger part of the game and we are proud to step up and take these projects on head first with the Football Association of Iceland. Our hope is that our support will help the Football Association with their important effort,“ says Ægir Már Þórisson, CEO of Advania Iceland.
”We have enjoyed a great partnership with Advania in the past and we are happy to be able to reinforce that collaboration. Presently, football relies increasingly on IT solutions, for training, managing tournaments and for logistics. It is truly priceless to have access to highly skilled professionals in this context,“ says Guðni Bergsson President of the Football Association of Iceland.
