MantiumCAE executes on Hybrid HPC with Advania HPCaaS cloud

Reykjavík, Iceland: MantiumCAE, a young and innovative German computer-aided engineering company, focused on CFD process automation, optimisation and aerodynamics for the racing and automotive industry, has begun executing Hybrid HPC by leveraging Advania’s new HPCaaS cloud for bursting and workload spikes for their CAE solution MantiumFlow.

MantiumCAE has been using HPC services since day one, but as the company expands, the need for additional resources along with fast and qualified support has become critical.

“As our business grows and we take on more customers, our projects become more complex; we face a lack of fast and reliable resources. Public clouds are not suitable for our type of HPC operation: our technical demands do not fit the public cloud offerings, and the cost of running in a public cloud is too high. The generic public cloud business model does not suit us, but the Advania HPCaaS cloud is tailor-made for HPC operators,” says André Zimmer, managing director at MantiumCAE. “Access to specialised, on-demand HPC resources that we can consume in a way that makes business sense for us is key as we grow our organisation and expand. This deal allows us to grow more organically and while avoiding expensive investments and long-term commitments in hosting, hardware and specialised IT personnel.”

Evolving from a partnership with HPE and Intel, Advania's HPCaaS cloud service aims to address the increasing need for on-demand HPC-dedicated resources, serving companies that require both the hardware to perform CPU, GPU, and high-speed interconnect, and support that makes the best business sense.

MantiumCAE is initially using Advania HPCaaS cloud for on-demand purposes, leveraging the infrastructure on demand and only pay for their usage.
